Astro Bot

Astro Bot takes players on an expansive 3D platforming adventure, where they control a robot named Astro navigating through a universe filled with creative challenges and vibrant worlds. The game spans over 80 levels, distributed across six galaxies and 50 planets, offering a rich variety of environments and obstacles. Players traverse these galaxies aboard the “Dual Speeder,” a spaceship shaped like the PlayStation 5’s DualSense controller, enhancing the thematic cohesion between the game’s universe and its gameplay mechanics. Astro is equipped with new abilities that diversify gameplay, such as a bulldog named Barkster that allows him to dash through enemies and landscapes, and a pair of frog gloves that enable him to strike from a distance and rebound off certain surfaces.

Dynamic Combat and Iconic Cameos

Each galaxy in Astro Bot concludes with an epic boss battle, demanding players master Astro’s abilities and the game’s mechanics to progress. The levels are peppered with ‘VIP bots’—over 150 unique characters inspired by various PlayStation franchises like God of War, Bloodborne, Horizon, and Uncharted. These bots are cosmetic additions and play integral roles within the game, bringing a delightful element of nostalgia and surprise to fans of those series. While Astro Bot does not support PlayStation VR2, its immersive and dynamic environment, combined with the innovative use of the PS5’s controller features, offers a fresh and engaging experience that pushes the boundaries of traditional platforming games.
